COMMERCIAL SERVICE LEAD TECHNICIAN - LONGWOOD

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Service Lead Technician to join our team.

The skilled Commercial Service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and installation of commercial roofing systems.

Cover roofs of structures with TPO, EPDM, PVC, and related materials. May spray roofs, sidings, and walls with material to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof sections of structures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High School/ G.E.D
  • Years of Experience: 1-3 years of roofing experience

Essential Functions

  • Clean up debris from the roof surface and surrounding property.
  • Install, repair, or replace single-ply roofing systems, using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
  • Cut felt, shingles, and strips of flashing; and fit them into angles formed by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces.
  • Install vapor barriers and/or layers of insulation on the roof decks of flat roofs and seal the seams.
  • Cover exposed nail heads with roofing cement or caulking to prevent water leakage and rust.
  • Cut roofing paper to size using knives; and nail or staple roofing paper to roofs in overlapping strips to form bases for other materials.
  • Install partially overlapping layers of material over roof insulation surfaces, determining distance of roofing material overlap using chalk lines, gauges on shingling hatchets, or lines on shingles
  • Covering roofs and exterior walls of structures with slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, gravel, gypsum, and/or related materials, using brushes, knives, punches, hammers and other tools.
  • Repair cracks, defects, or damage, using proper materials
  • Physical ability to stand and walk, lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly
  • Apply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings
  • Inspect equipment, structures and material
  • Evaluate information to determine compliance with standards
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures

DRIVER - DELIVERY/LABORER - LONGWOOD

To transport roofing materials to and from scheduled jobsites, performs daily pre/ post maintenance checks on all vehicles and equipment operated, clean vehicles as needed in order to promote a professional company image and assists with duties as described or directed by management.

(Willing to learn all aspects of Commercial Services to be able to complete Commercial Services responsibilities once trained)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrive at the Branch in appropriate attire and punch in at the prescribed time.
  • Perform daily truck inspection, record on log, and give copy to the Commercial Services Manager (check fluids, tire pressure, tire tread, etc.).
  • Keep the Collis phone with you during the work day.
  • See Commercial Services Manager to review scheduled deliveries.
  • Load materials for delivery and secure properly.
  • Check with Commercial Services Manager for any special instructions before leaving the Branch.
  • Inform Commercial Services Manager that truck is ready to go and allow Manager to verify.
  • Depart the Branch on designated delivery route.
  • Examine jobsite for safe access (minimize traffic on grass areas, avoid landscaping).
  • All material delivered is to be stocked on the roof (unless conditions do not permit or otherwise directed by management).
  • Any items left on the ground (except roofing cement & modified bitumen adhesive) are to be placed next to or in front of the dumpster, making sure to leave access to the garage for the homeowner.
  • All roofing cement and modified bitumen adhesive is to be placed in the grass or on the roof ONLY!
  • Pick up any debris left from the delivery and either put them into the dumpster or bring them back to the branch.
  • Notify Manager by text that the delivery is complete.
  • After returning to the shop, unload all materials from the delivery truck
  • Refuel truck and as necessary (record all mileage and gallons, keep track of fuel and LP stock and notify Manager for reorder).
  • See Manager for debriefing and any possible special instructions before punching out.
  • When extra materials are picked up be sure to walk the entire jobsite and remove all roofing materials.
